In 2008, BGHJ Architects completed an interior office fit-up design for this client, housing approximately 300 employees. The project won the 2009 Award of Merit by the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario and received the award rating of LEEDtm Canada Certified in April 2010.

In 2014, the client approached BGHJ Architects to design an expansion project that would accommodate an additional 160 employees with associated services. The work involved design services for a two-storey fit-up expansion integrated with the original BGHJ designed office interior. The program for the expansion includes a series of meeting rooms, private phone rooms, storage rooms, IT spaces, staff rooms, coffee zones, and 160 new workstations.

The design maximizes natural daylight reaching the central workstations through strategic organization of the core service spaces and meeting rooms. Glazed walls allow for light penetration into the meeting rooms while bright colored finishes allow light to reflect deeper into the spaces. LEED principles were maintained in the new expansion with the selection of certified materials and finishes, the minimization of energy use through Lutron daylight sensors, and the optimization of indoor environmental quality.

One of the main challenges in this project was to aesthetically merge the new expansion with the existing office space while delivering a highly contemporary design. This was resolved by weaving elements of the existing office space into the addition and merging them with more contemporary finishes.
